Assam 2nd Flush - Sommelier's Selection

Introducing our Assam TGFOP1 2nd Flush black tea, named after the region of its production, in Assam, India.
Picked between May and June, Second Flush Assam teas are considered the best flush, producing a spicy and malty liquor.
This tea is produced using the orthodox method of rolling the tea. The leaves are large and black with a smattering of golden tips. Once brewed, the liquor is brisk with a traditionally malty Assam character.

TEA-RIVIA
During the Opium wars, which disrupted the tea trade between Britain and China, the British experimented with growing the tea plant themselves in new regions. Assam, in North East India was a region that proved to be very successful, particularly when they discovered that a variant of the tea plant was already growing wild in Assam - the Camellia Sinensis Assamica - as this varietal grew much more successfully.
